LOOKING CAREFULLY 

Cramer Hill, New Jersey, is a diverse community both in terms of culture and architecture. A riot of colors and textures characterizes the accumulation of houses and additions over time. Houses are typically set back from the street, with parking aisles at their sides serving as ad hoc outdoor social spaces. This project formalizes the existing model of housing into a new construction prototype, picking up on playful massings, bold colors, and side stoops. The addition of subsidized sustainable features like solar panels and water-saving fixtures combine to make the project net zero energy.
