EXHIBITION AT COOPER HEWITT, SMITHSONIAN DESIGN MUSEUM
Process Lab: Citizen Design is an interactive exhibition developed in partnership with the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. In a workshop environment, visitors are invited to participate in the process of design and encouraged to explore how design can activate change in communities and the world at large. Through a series of questions and choices people will go on record about what they care about, define an issue that matters to them, and propose design moves that have impact. This process is similar to the process designers use when they collaborate with others to address complex issues—from designing a simple product to working with communities to create more inclusive neighborhoods. The Process Lab prompts people to consider how design decisions get made and the power citizen designers can have when they work collaboratively with community stakeholders.
Process Lab materials are available for download from the Cooper Hewitt's website here.
