WINDOW SHOPPING
Local, eco-friendly clothing designer Lobo Mau opened this storefront space to complement their screenprinting and design studio with a retail presence near the vibrant shopping corridor along Philadelphia’s South Street. Working with a minimal budget and DIY approach, the space was designed to showcase clothing designs by Lobo Mau in addition to other locally produced eco-conscious products. The existing interior was lightly renovated, with a bold black and white color scheme matched with modest custom metal and millwork. The store opened a few weeks before COVID-19 hit Philadelphia, forcing the store to close its doors. The design for the store’s windowbox display cases were converted to create safe shoppable windows with the addition of QR codes, allowing Lobo Mau to continue to thrive throughout the pandemic, driving traffic to its website and online sales portal.
